BIOGRAPHY
Astrid Kallenbach-Gustavson – Lyric Soprano
Astrid is a versatile lyric soprano with a rich, expressive voice and a strong stage presence. Originally from Leipzig, Germany, she studied classical voice under Steffi Schlegel and made her operatic debut as the fairy Senfsamen in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Opera Leipzig. Early in her career, she was awarded first prize in Jugend musiziert in Sachsen, marking her as a promising young talent.
After relocating to Norway, Astrid continued to refine her artistry through advanced studies with some of the most respected voices in the field, including Professor Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz, Professor Viggo Pettersen (UiS), and tenor and vocal coach Matthew Marriott.
Her repertoire spans from Baroque and opera to operetta and musical theatre, allowing her to move effortlessly between styles while maintaining musical depth and dramatic clarity.
